2024-25 MYC Sunrise Pricing & Policies

Fees

Sunrise is a one-year (30 week) program offered in 10 week blocks. Single block commitments are available as well.

A credit card saved on file is required at the time of registration to reserve your space in the class. Fees may be paid in 1, 3, or 9 installments. Your credit card will be charged automatically following the schedule below. Choose one of these options:

Students beginning with Block 2 or 3 will be charged an additional $15 per previous missed block for extra supplies.

Returning Sunrise students receive a discount ($15 per block) for any block they have previously completed and are repeating, but are expected to re-use their backpack and rhythm instruments from last year.

Cancellation Policy:

  • No refunds on cleared payments (unless the studio cancels a program).

  • Other than this there is no penalty for withdrawals, so, for example, if you pay in 3 payments and notify me before Nov 1 that you do not wish to continue after Block 1, your upcoming payments will not be charged. If you are unsure about continuing for the entire year, you should select to pay in 3 or 9 payments instead of for the entire year up front.

You will be notified in advance of any changes to the above schedule. Please note that end dates may be extended if we need to cancel any classes.


Missed Classes

  • Advance notification is expected of missing a class.

  • There are no refunds for missed classes.

  • If unable to attend in person for some reason, you may join the class online. If you are unable to participate live, recordings are also available.

Bad Weather

  • Everyone has different vehicles, different distances to drive, and different comfort levels with driving in bad weather. If you are not comfortable driving, you can attend online that week.

  • Classes may be moved to an online format for bad weather or teacher illness.

Online/In-Person Classes

  • We are focusing on high quality in-person teaching this year. Online options are available for sickness and snow days, but we are not offering it as an equal alternative. Online attendance may not be fully interactive, especially if most students in your class are attending in person. We encourage and expect all students to attend in person as much as possible.

Parent Participation

A parent or other adult is required to attend class with each child.


Siblings Waiting During Class

  • You must request permission from the studio in advance if you may need to bring siblings to class.

  • Siblings must be able to wait quietly without interrupting.

Communication

We are eager to stay in touch! Please call or e-mail during the week with any questions or concerns you may have, or we can set up an appointment outside of class time. Please do not discuss questions or concerns about your child's progress in front of your child.


A Final Word

The benefits of studying music at an early age are well documented. Children need a great many positive fun-filled musical experiences before they begin formal musical training, and Sunrise is just that: 30-45 minutes of music fun each week laced with good solid learning experiences geared to children who are not yet old enough to begin learning to play a musical instrument. It is not a surprise that children who have experienced Sunrise have an excellent chance to become high achievers in both school and formal music lessons when they are older.
